‘Value yourself, value your learning and respect all others’
Situated on the corner of Richardson and May Roads, May Road School is a vibrant multicultural school that has been at the heart of the Roskill community for more than 100 years. Recently celebrating its centennial year, the school continues to build on a proud legacy of learning, connection and community spirit.
At May Road School, success is about more than reading, writing and mathematics. The school is dedicated to helping every child believe in themselves, feel secure in their identity, and develop the confidence to reach their full potential. This holistic approach creates an environment where students are empowered to thrive both inside and outside the classroom.
Over the years, May Road School has partnered with the Roskill South Development team on a range of meaningful community projects. From taking part in Auckland Council’s Adopt-a-Park programme in Freeland Reserve as “environmental warriors” to helping protect and learn from locally discovered shell midden taonga, students are encouraged to become active kaitiaki of their community and environment.
The school is also involved in ongoing archaeological and historical research through the Te Rangahau Pukewiwi/Puketāpapa Maunga Research Project 2026, helping students deepen their understanding of the area's rich cultural and historical significance.
