Join us at an upcoming community garden event, here's all you need to know about what's on for the rest of the year.

Saturday 24 August, 10.00 am - 12.00 pm
Organic garden workshop

This workshop will focus on growing food in Winter and prepping the garden for Spring. You'll get the chance to plant a Winter smooothie garden in a container! Plus, grab your gloves and join the gardening working bee.

Saturday 7 September, 10.00 am - 12.00 pm
Spring gardening eco-cleaning workshop

Join local community group Eco-neighbourhoods for a workshop that focuses on Spring gardening and eco-cleaning. Plus, grab your gloves and join the gardening working bee.

Saturday 21 September, 10.00 am - 12.00 pm
Organic garden workshop

Come along and grab some tips on up-cycling and re-using 'rubbish'. Plus, learn how to create a kai garden in a container. Plus, grab your gloves and join the gardening working bee.

Saturday 19 October, 10.00 am - 12.00 pm
'Honey on Toast' beekeeping workshop

Join the beekeeping workshop ran by local bee keeper Michael Backhurst. Did you know that there are about 26 species of bee in NZ? Learn about the different species, where to find them and how you can help provide food and shelter for them. Enjoy some honey on toast for morning tea and make a bees wax wrapper while you're there too!

Family movie night at the gardens

Come along to our pop-up cinema, bring along a family picnic and enjoy the movie and free popcorn (Before the movie kicks off we will be running a children's play session that involves making cars from cardboard, ready for the drive in movie. Don't forget to bring your own popcorn container!  

Saturday 23 November, 10.00 am - 12.00 pm
Organic garden workshop

At this workshop you will learn about medicinal herbs and tea. Plus, grab your gloves and join the gardening working bee. 

Saturday 7 December, 10.00 am - 12.00 pm
Repurposing workshop followed by a neighbourhood celebration

The final workshop for the year looks at repurposing. The shed building team from Gribblehirst will help you make some pallet furniture. This is the final working bee for the year so bring along your gloves and join the team. This event will be followed by an end of the year neighbourhood celebration. Watch this space for more details!
