What’s happening in Wesley?

Wesley is a vibrant, multicultural neighbourhood that people are proud to call home. With a growing population, more homes are needed in Wesley.

The planned development in will bring a range of new, sustainable homes - offering people a modern, urban lifestyle in a neighbourhood where they can walk to nearby parks, local shopping hubs and eateries.

Over the next 15 plus years, this development will bring around:

  • 6000 warm, dry homes
  • a new town centre
  • upgraded parks and green spaces
  • more walkways and cycle paths
  • improved transport networks

The new homes will include social homes for Aucklanders who need housing assistance, homes to buy – including more affordable homes – and homes to rent.
At the same time, we’ll be taking the opportunity to renovate Wesley’s parks, public spaces, walking paths and underground infrastructure. It’s a major transformation that will bring a fresh vibe to the neighbourhood.

Wesley (West)

Planning is underway in Wesley (West) for around 3,000 new homes. There’ll be a range of homes coming to the neighbourhood - social homes, homes to buy, including more affordable homes, and homes to rent

The first stage involves the removal of around 33 existing social homes that are no longer fit for purpose, and replacing them with around 320 brand-new, warm, dry, healthy homes. 60% of the homes are planned to be market and more affordable homes available to buy.

The first part of the development in Wesley (West) Stage 1 is from O’Donnell Avenue to Sandringham Road.
