WHAT’S HAPPENING ON THE GROUND

Ōwairaka is part of the wider Roskill Development, led by Kāinga Ora – Homes and Communities. This large-scale, long-term project is transforming the neighbourhood with modern, warm homes and essential new infrastructure.

When fully complete, the Ōwairaka Development will deliver 1,164 new homes, replacing approximately 200 existing social homes and creating a vibrant, mixed community

So far, here’s where we’re at:

HOMES DELIVERED AND ON THE WAY

• 460+ new homes completed so far:
  - Approximately 180 social homes
  - Around 280 market homes
• Around 360 homes are currently under construction.
• More market homes will begin construction, reach completion, and become available to purchase in 2026.

• Only a few social housing sites remain to be completed.

• All market land is now fully contracted across 11 development partners.

LOOKING AHEAD

Ōwairaka will continue to take shape as a modern, well-connected and resilient neighbourhood, with homes and infrastructure working together to support a thriving community.
