Privacy, shared space, and all in one place – new homes in Ōwairaka had a lot to showcase.

On Saturday, 22 July, community members and neighbours of 20 new state homes in Range View Road were invited to check out the privacy and comfort of new Kāinga Ora apartments. A three-bedroom apartment and a beautifully staged two-bedroom apartment on the ground floor were open for viewing.

About 50 people enjoyed coffee and morning tea as they toured two of the new homes -– with Roskill Development and Kāinga Ora Housing Support teams on site to answer questions and chat with the community about the homes and upcoming plans for the area. Kāinga Ora build partner Signature Construction was also there to provide information and answer questions about the new homes.

 “I love how you can have moments of interaction with neighbours, without losing privacy,” one visitor said.

Another commented on the modern design and “nice flow”.

“It’ll be a nice place to live. We need more of this,” they said.

Living up to the range in its name, the full site boasts homes with two, three, four, five and six bedrooms, and with planting, trees and gardens for everyone to enjoy, residents have the view covered, too. 

Around 1,000 new warm, dry homes are coming to Ōwairaka as part of Roskill Development, and they’ll be a mix of different types – state, market and more affordable homes for sale, including KiwiBuild.
