WHAT’S HAPPENING ON THE GROUND

Roskill South is part of the wider Roskill Development, a major regeneration programme led by Kāinga Ora – Homes and Communities. Together, we’re helping reshape this well-loved area with modern, warm homes, greener spaces and better community amenities.

The development will ultimately deliver up to 970 brand-new homes, replacing around 265 existing social homes and creating a vibrant, mixed community for generations to come.

PROGRESS ACROSS THE NEIGHBOURHOOD

All physical works are now complete across all four stages of the Roskill South Development, enabling around 970 new social and market homes in total — a major milestone for the project.

Here’s what’s been achieved so far:

• Over 300 warm, dry, healthy social homes are now complete and happily occupied by whānau across the neighbourhood.
• All market land is now contracted with 11 development partners. 
• 220+ new market homes have already been completed, with almost 400 more to be delivered over the next 36 months.

• 130 homes are currently under construction, with additional new builder partners set to begin in 2026.

PARKS, PLAY AND COMMUNITY SPACES

• The upgraded Freeland Reserve is being well used by locals and continues to play a vital role in managing stormwater as well as providing valuable open space.
• A new park on Howell Crescent is in the planning stage with Council. This will create another fun, accessible space for the community to enjoy.
• Turners Reserve now has a brand-new wharepaku (public toilets), completed just in time for summer — a highly valued addition after more than eight years of advocacy from the development team.

LOOKING AHEAD

Roskill South continues to grow into a connected, welcoming and liveable neighbourhood, with homes, parks and amenities now coming together. Thank you to the local community for your support and input.

TIMELINE

Summer 2026/2027

• More brand new homes will be brought to the market as they’re completed.
• The new wharepaku is installed in Turners Reserve.
• Design of the Howell Crescent park continues with Auckland Council.

Autumn/Winter 2026

• Work continues to complete new market homes.

Summer 2026/2027

• Construction and sales of market homes continue.
