Each year, Mt Roskill War Memorial Park comes alive with Culture Fest - a much‑loved free community celebration led by Auckland Council and supported by the diverse cultural and community groups that call Mt Roskill and Tāmaki Makaurau home. Music, dance, food and performances from around the world created a vibrant, welcoming atmosphere that celebrated the richness of our local community.
Kāinga Ora has proudly been part of this iconic event for more than five years, reflecting our ongoing commitment to strengthening vibrant, thriving neighbourhoods. This year’s Culture Fest took place on Sunday, 29 March at May Road Memorial Park, hosted by Auckland Council Events in partnership with the Puketāpapa Local Board.

Our stall was a popular stop for whānau throughout the day, drawing in people of all ages with free, hands‑on activities such as henna and dough art. These activities created a relaxed, friendly space to connect, share kōrero, and answer questions about build timelines, home sales and what’s ahead across the three Roskill neighbourhoods.

The event was made possible through the collective mahi tahi of the Roskill Development team, Roskill Information Centre staff, and our Housing and Wellbeing, Placemaking, and CEP teams. Together, we showcased the power of partnership, community connection and being present where our communities already come together.
Thank you to everyone who joined us on the day!
